We helped these clients arrive quickly at a multitude of decisions by narrowing style, finishes and options. In reviewing the kitchen layout, we blended the space with the rest of the house by continuing the hard wood flooring into the kitchen, giving this space unity, and the open feeling of a “great room.” While establishing a design criteria of “Contemporary Craftsman, the “right” lighting fixtures were key. This includes their strategic placement, illuminating the room in layers. Oil rubbed bronze cabinet hardware says “Craftsman” through and through, and with an ample size pull for both large and small hands, it provides convenience and utility. We decided upon light gray Calabria quartz countertops with very little veining and luminosity to provide for a clean, non-cluttered look.

Handmade, ceramic subway tile from Sonoma Tile Makers create a stylish backsplash, and with darker grout in a herringbone pattern, it makes an artistic statement. The Kohler cast iron sink is the perfect size, shape and color (Biscuit), for this small size kitchen, and the gooseneck faucet provides ample room for washing pots and pans.
